Our Mission
There is perhaps no field as broad in application and so controversial in education as mathematics. Despite being a key tool to virtually any job or lifestyle, it consistently ranks as a student’s least favorite subject in all levels of study. It’s no wonder why; modern math education is plagued by abstractions of fundamental concepts and seemingly-pointless thought exercises. Lotus Media Labs believes that learning math doesn’t have to be difficult (and certainly shouldn’t be hated). We are committed to helping students of all learning styles find new appreciation for math (and to have a little fun while we’re at it).
Our Team
Lotus Media Labs is a solo passion project currently run by a college student with a tutoring hobby and a little free time (hello there). The website, printing lab, math notes, and pretty much everything you can find on our page are done in-house by one person (except for our logo, which was created by the enormously-talented tabi.art_._ ). I am open to working with anyone who wants to contribute, so reach out if you sympathize with our plan!
Our Funding
As a somewhat broke college student, the initial funding for Lotus Media Labs came from working part-time. To help with the longevity of the project (and to partially spare my bank account), funding for many of our operations will come from locally selling 3D-printed, hand-painted figures and parts. This includes the cost of physical materials (resin, paint, primers, etc.), selling costs (shipping, booth expenses), and software licensing.
